New support group for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease or dementia to meet in Elkhart

The group will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month starting Aug. 19.

ELKHART — A new community caregiver support group for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month starting Aug. 19 at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart, 1732 Garden St. It is free and open to the public.

The new support group joins a network of caregiver support groups sponsored by Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, including a group that meets at 5 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at First Presyterian Church, 200 E. Beardsley Ave., and another group that meets at 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Greencroft Community Center, 1820 Greencroft Blvd., Goshen.
