Minority Health Coalition holds 20th annual health fair on August 2

The organization will offer free screenings and health information for medical problems such as heart disease, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and more.

The Minority Health Coalition - Elkhart County will hold its 20th annual health fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Tolson Community & Youth Center in Elkhart.

There will be free screenings for those who are uninsured or otherwise unable to seek medical attention. The fair will also offer information and counselling services for individuals who may not have the money or the means to receive medical treatment.

The organization will offer screenings and health information for heart disease and blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, cancer, lead poisoning, HIV and AIDS, height and weight, body mass index, vision and nutrition. There will also be dental screenings for youths.

Parents can also bring their children for school physicals from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but they must bring their children’s school physical form.
