Camp Safe Kids set for June 16

Children will learn basic first aid, Internet safety, abduction prevention, and safety lessons about boating, water, bicycle, traffic and fire safety.

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — The Cass County Council on Aging will present Camp Safe Kids from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16 at the COA Lowe Center, 60525 Decatur Road. The camp is free to any 9- to 11-year-old in Cass County and features safety activities presented in an interactive format.

The program is limited to 32 children and includes lunch and a free bicycle helmet for every child. Children will learn basic first aid, Internet safety, abduction prevention, and safety lessons about boating, water, bicycle, traffic and fire safety. Fire department demonstrations will include home fire safety and prevention and the canine unit featuring dogs trained as official members of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
