COA presents new slate of leaders at annual meeting

Cass County Council On Aging presented its annual report and a new slate of leaders on its board of directors at its annual meeting in April.

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — The Cass County Council on Aging presented its annual report and a new slate of leaders on its board of directors at its annual meeting in April.

Newly elected officers for COA include:

  • President: Tom Celie, retired from Tyler Refrigeration.
  • Vice president: Harry Shaffer, Cassopolis resident and business executive
  • Secretary: Elaine Foster, associate dean of nursing at American Sentinel University
  • Treasurer: Ron Jones, retired superintendent of Dowagiac Union Schools

Eleanore Flowers, president of the Cass County COA board of directors for nine years, stepped down at the conclusion of her term.

“(Flowers) has provided leadership and direction and has been responsible for a wide variety of very positive changes,” said Bob Cochrane, COA chief executive officer. “We are confident that Tom Celie, a former business executive, will bring new insights and continue to ensure our impact on the Cass County community.”
