GOSHEN — ADEC Inc. will celebrate Autism Awareness Month for the fourth year.
ADEC, a nonprofit group that provides services for children and adults with disabilities, will hold its annual Light the Way for Autism Awareness event from 10 a.m. to noon April 26 at the organization’s space at 319 S. Main St. in downtown Elkhart.
There will be autism experts on hand to answer questions, activities for children and music from the ADEC bell choir with chief financial officer Mitch Walorski. Participants will also be invited to decorate blue balloons in honor of love ones with autism.
“We hope these balloons will line Main Street and be a visual reminder of the number of people on the autism spectrum,” ADEC family services director Michelle McGuin said in a news release. “This will be a morning for families to meet, network, exchange information and explore community resources, including representatives from local groups coming to answer questions.”
