County on Aging offering a program on organizing financial paperwork

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- Cass County Council on Aging will offer the program “Organizing Financial Paperwork” Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lowe Center, 60525 Decatur Road, and 1 to 2 p.m. at Front Street Crossing, 227 S. Front St., Dowagiac.

The class will help individuals organize financial documents after preparation work required for gathering income tax information. It will include tips and strategies for sorting and organizing important papers and financial records and help individuals determine safe places for items like birth certificates, immunization records, loan and tax documents. Presenter will be Joseph Silvia of Chemical Bank.

COA will also offer free shredding services from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Front Street Crossing. Mountain High Shredding Company will be stationed in the parking lot where individuals can line up to safety shred unwanted documents.
