ELKHART — Got questions about the Affordable Care Act?

Want to enroll in a plan offered on the Affordable Care Act health exchange?

An informational event and enrollment session is set for Monday, March 24, at the downtown Elkhart Public Library, 300 S. Second St. It goes from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Affordable Care Act individual mandate requires individuals to have coverage as of last Jan. 1 and the deadline to sign up for plans offered on the exchange this year is quickly approaching, March 31. Coverage offered on the exchanges is geared to part-time workers and those without employer-provided health care, among others.

The session is sponsored by Heart City Health Center of Elkhart, Elkhart General Hospital and Community Action of Northeast Indiana, or CANI. Spanish- and English-speaking navigators trained in signing up people for exchange coverage will be on hand along with representatives from some of the carriers offering coverage.

Organizers ask those attending to bring recent pay stubs or federal Form W-2s, photo identification and any info about any current insurance coverage.

Another informational session is set for March 31 at the library, from 3 to 6 p.m.
