Always memorable, the "Voice of Elkhart," who passed away May 7 at the age of 80, could light up a room and draw a laugh. It just came naturally.

Road crews through the county are dealing with the latest crop of potholes as the warming weather increases their frequency and size.

Elkhart County and others attracting commuters could be rewarded with more street and highway dollars, but the real challenge is the increasing cost of materials to pave and patch.
