Elkhart Memorial teams dominate at Country Club Lanes

Elkhart Memorial boys and girls each set season high team games and series in competition Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Country Club Lanes.

Paige Weldy (433) and Tori Smith (395) led the Charger girls to an 1801 team series which easily topped Concord as the draw team 19-1. For the boys it was Danden Solomon’s 492 series on games of 235-257 setting the pace as the Chargers totaled 1990 in blasting Elkhart Central as the draw team 19-1.

Concord squeaked by Northridge 11-9 led by Jarrod Beverly’s 201-205 (406) series. Michael Schlabach also totaled 406 on games of 192-214 for Northridge. With the win, Concord stays in second place at 6-2 while Northridge falls to 5-3.

Goshen walloped Wawasee 16-4 with Brad Chupp leading the way at 185-203 (388). Two-hander Andrew Wright paced Wawasee with 156-198 (354).

Central downed NorthWood 18-2. Garrett Moles posted a 253 game and Walter Griffin III at 214 for the Blazers. Kobe Benavidez had the top game for NorthWood at 169.

Memorial on the strength of Solomon’s series bested Central as the draw team 19-1. Jacob Tucker added a 221 game and Jeffrey Sindle a 204 for Memorial as they remain unbeaten and two wins ahead of second place Concord. The 1030 second game total for Memorial is the new high team game for the season.

Jimtown blanked Fairfield 20-0 with Chance Livings posting 176-209 (385) for the Jimmies.

Girls recap

Northridge improved to 5-3 downing Concord 11.5-8.5. Kyla Meade’s 325 series topped the Raiders’ effort while Kaitlyn Eash led Concord with 312. Concord falls a win off the pace set by leaders Memorial and Jimtown with the loss while Northridge improves to 5-3.

Goshen rolled past Wawasee 18-2 led by Sara Vincze’s 293 series. Goshen is now 4-4 while Wawasee falls to 0-8.

Central chopped down NorthWood 18-2 again led by Lizzy Glaser posting 208-211 (419). Courtney Holdeman topped NorthWood with her 240 series. Central moves to 5-3 while NorthWood goes to 1-7.

Memorial’s Weldy, with 433, moved into the second high individual series for the season and along with Tori Smith’s 224-171 (395) powered the Chargers over Concord as the draw team 19-1. Their 920 total in game one is also the new season high team game. Memorial remains tied atop the standings at 7-1 with Jimtown.

Jimtown cruised past Fairfield 18-2 with Natosha Adams’ 201 game leading the way. Kassi Rosenberry led Fairfield with a 167 game. The Jimmies improve to 7-1 while Fairfield drops to 1-7.
