Concord, Memorial take charge during high school competition at Country Club Lanes

Concord’s girls took sole possession of the top spot while Memorial’s boys created separation from the field with wins during position round action in Michiana Central Conference competition Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Country Club Lanes.

Concord crafted a convincing 16.5 – 3.5 win over the Lady Jimmies winning game one 825-761 and narrowly holding on in game two 795-783. In the boys top match Memorial and Concord tied 10-10 with Memorial winning game one 914-835 with Concord bouncing back to take game two 899-847. Memorial’s 1761 total count was 30 pins better than Concord giving the Chargers the win and a two-match lead atop the standings.

Boys recap

Memorial 10, Concord 10 – Jacob Tucker’s 215-248 (463) carried the Chargers to the total pin victory in the one versus two position round match. Marquied Emmons 187-198 (385) total topped the Minutemen’s efforts.

Jimtown 10, Central 10 – Led by Joey Juday with 211-169 (380) the Jimmies sent Central to its third consecutive close loss. Jimtown won game one convincingly 851-789 with Central taking game two 890-875 and gaining the 10-10 tie. Jimtown took the match on the 1726-1679 total pin fall advantage. Tayler Rossi was tops for Central with 187-202 (389).

Wawasee 15, Goshen 5 – Andrew Wright powered Wawasee to the win posting the top series of the day with 253-225 (478). Ryan Meade paced Goshen with 170-203 (373).

Northridge 17 NorthWood 3 – Michael Schlabach 247-197 (444) and Josh Garfien 225-204 (429) led the Raiders to the win. Josh Kincaid’s 164-211 (375) led NorthWood.

Concord 16.5, Jimtown 3.5 – Kathryn Lantz 193-168 (361) and Kaitlyn West 171-182 (353) pulled Concord over the Lady Jimmies securing the top spot in a battle between the previously unbeaten teams. Brianna Ferro again paced Jimtown with 168-199 (367).

Memorial 17, Northridge 3 – Memorial got solid contributions throughout their lineup in the convincing win over the Raiders. Memorial was led by Brooklyn Shutz 176-182 (358). Kyla Meade’s 157-184 (341) was best for Northridge.

Goshen 10.5, NorthWood 9.5 – Rachel Horning’s 159-173 (332) total helped Goshen to the narrow win. Drew Holdeman posted 155-161 (316) for NorthWood.

Central 18, Fairfield 2 – Lizzy Glaser continued her hot streak posting 245-201 (446) besting her own previous season high series mark for the Blazers. Kassi Rosenberry topped Fairfield with a 277 series.

Fairfield (draw team) 11, Wawasee 9 – Sydney Fisher’s 227 series led Wawasee.
