As part of Celebrate Elkhart’s weeklong festivities, two local breweries will host tap parties for The Elkhart Truth’s 125th anniversary.
Iechyd Da, 317 N. Main St., is tapping into the celebration at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, by introducing Truth Serum, a new Southern English nut brown ale specially created for The Elkhart Truth’s big year.
Hop Notes blogger Eric Strader describes the drink as “a bit sweeter than its American counterpart, with Fuggle hops, caramel malt and an English yeast strain.” The beer will also be on tap most of the week and at Celebrate Elkhart’s downtown block party Saturday, Aug. 9.
For the Flavor 574 Tap Party on Wednesday, Aug. 6, New Paradigm Brewing Co., 600 S. Main St., will host a tap take-over at 6 p.m. The party will highlight beer from Burn ‘Em Brewing in Michigan City, including MCA IPA, Joey Wheat, Brindle, Hop Parade and a specialty batch of 42 Amber Rye.
