Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum teams up with Barnes & Noble for Batman, superhero-themed events

The Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum in Elkhart and retail bookstore Barnes & Noble in Mishawaka will bring several superhero-themed events to na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-northern Indiana.

Like dynamic duo Batman and Robin, the Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum in Elkhart has teamed up with Barnes & Noble at University Park Mall in Mishawaka to host several superhero-themed events from July to August in northern Indiana.

The partnership between the superhero and comic book museum and the retail bookstore will bring several “Get Pop-Cultured” events to the area, beginning with the Hall of Heroes Batman Day this weekend. It will feature costume competitions, superhero-themed activities and photo opportunities with comic book characters.

“We are very excited about this new partnership with Barnes & Noble. The store has always been known as a gathering place for people who enjoy great kid’s events and pop culture merchandise,” Allen Stewart, the executive director of the Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum, said in a press release.

The area museum has acquired a number of notable superhero merchandise in the last two years, including a $75,000 Batman costume worn by Adam West in the 1960s “Batman” television series and one of the six shields used in the 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger.”Travel Channel Network’s Toy Hunter also visited Allen Stewart at the museum, helping him acquire a rare 1946 statuette of Captain Marvel valued between $3,000 and $3,500.

Attendees can also give back to the museum by making purchases using a special voucher from the museum. Barnes and Noble will give back a percentage of voucher sales to the non-profit museum.

Hall of Heroes Batman Day

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19.

Where: Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum, 58005 C.R. 105, Elkhart.

The Batmobile from the 1960s television series will roll up Saturday, July 19, to the Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum to celebrate 75 years of the caped crusader’s many adventures. The event will also feature costumed characters and exclusive merchandise.

Batman Day at Barnes & Noble

When: Noon and 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.

Where: Barnes & Noble at University Park Mall, 6501 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka.

Can’t make it to the Batman Day at the Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum? Barnes & Noble in Mishawaka will host another day in honor of The Dark Knight, featuring costumed characters, trivia and costume competitions, and photo and autograph stations. You can also help Gotham’s savior by collaborating with other attendees to use Lego bricks to help build stately Wayne Manor, home to Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne.

DC Comics Spectacular

When: Noon and 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26.

Where: Barnes & Noble at University Park Mall

The DC Comics Spectacular at Barnes & Noble in Mishawaka will also feature costumed characters, costume and trivia competitions, photo and autograph stations, and other DC Comics-themed activities. You can help collaborate with other attendees to build a Lego brick replica of the Hall of Justice, the headquarters of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and other members of the Justice League.

Marvel Day

When: Noon and 4 p.m. Saturday, August 2.

Where: Barnes & Noble at University Park Mall

Do you prefer Spider-man over Batman? Barnes & Noble in Mishawaka will host Marvel Day in celebration of the superheroes from comic book publisher Marvel Comics, which includes the X-Men and the Avengers. There will be Marvel-themed costumed characters, costume and trivia competitions, photo and autograph stations. You can also collaborate on a Lego brick replica of the X-Mansion, sanctuary of the mutants and headquarters of the X-Men.
