19th annual EnviroFest is Friday in Elkhart

The event features woodworking and fishing demonstrations and exhibitions on energy conservation and environmental organizations.

Elkhartans and local businesses will gather to celebrate the environment and learn about sustainability at the 19th annual EnviroFest on Friday, July 11, in Elkhart.

The Elkhart Environmental Center and WVPE 88.1 will host the event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Wellfield Botanic Gardens.

There will be a variety of demonstrations, including woodworking and fishing from the city’s own rivers, and exhibitions on environmental organizations, energy conservation and recycled art.

The event will also feature food vendors and a beer garden, which will offer a variety of beers and wines from local breweries and wineries.

Attendees can win prizes if they participate in the EnviroFest Raffle & Auction, which features products, services and treats from local businesses and organizations.

The cost of admission for an adult is $5, and children can attend for free.
