If you’re superstitious, you might want to avoid flying, driving, undergoing major surgery, making a large investment, walking under ladders or hanging around black cats on Friday, June 13.
In fact, maybe you should just stay in bed.
This year’s only Friday the 13th happens to fall on a full moon, making the day particularly difficult for anyone suffering from Friggatriskaidekaphobia (fear of Friday the 13th) or selenophobia (fear of the moon), according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.
Both events on their own are associated with bad luck, mayhem and madness, so the combining the two promises to be even more ominous.
The last time the two unlucky events converged was Oct. 13, 2000 and the next won’t be until Aug. 13, 2049.
Do you believe Friday the 13th and/or a full moon bring bad luck? What superstitions have you heard regarding the two events?
