Patchwork in Nappanee Quilt Show

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 30; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31; 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 1

Where: Nappanee Center, 302 West Market St. in Nappanee

The Nappanee Center will hold a special exhibition of 30 quilts from local quilters, collectors and the Evelyn Lehman Culp Heritage Collection.


Through an Artist’s Eye

When: Noon Friday, May 30

Where: South Bend Museum of Art, 120 S. Joseph St. in South Bend

The South Bend Museum of Art will be displaying some of its recent acquisitions to its permanent collection Friday, May 30. These works will be displayed in the Jerome J. Crowley Community Gallery.


Harvest Market at the Woodlawn Nature Center

When: 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 30

Where: Woodlawn Nature Center, 604 Woodlawn Ave. in Elkhart

The Woodlawn Nature Center’s seventh annual Harvest Market will continue Friday, May 30. You can pick up fresh, locally-grown produce, plants, homemade treats and handmade items. The market will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. Fridays until Oct. 11.


Learn Spanish Through Charades

When: 6 p.m. Friday, May 30

Where: Barnes and Noble at 6501 N. Grape Road in Mishawaka

The Barnes and Noble in Mishawaka will host an educational game of charades where participants can learn the Spanish language. The game will be played using eeBoo’s Spanish Flash Cards and will take place in the store’s Reader’s Lounge.


Using Energy Prudently Workshop

When: 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, in Goshen; 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in South Bend

Where: Waterford Mennonite Church at 65975 S.R. 15 in Goshen. Kern Road Mennonite Church at 18211 Kern Road in South Bend

Hoosier Interfaith Power and Light will be hosting a workshop that teaches congregations how to reduce energy use by 24 to 40 percent and save money.


“No Dumping, Drains to Stream” storm drain marking project

When: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 31

Where: Island Park at 200 E. Sycamore in Elkhart

The city of Elkhart needs volunteers to help install metal markers near storm drain inlets. Participants will be able to raise awareness about trash, debris or hazardous waste that enters storm drains, resulting in surface and groundwater pollution. Volunteers should call Megan Kolaczyk, Environmental Utility Coordinator with the city of Elkhart, at 574-293-2572 to RSVP.


Mustang Show and Cruise In

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31

Where: Eby Ford Lincoln car dealership at 2714 Elkhart Road in Goshen

The Michiana Mustang Club will hold its annual Mustang Show and Cruise In this weekend. The event is open to all vintage and classic cars. The Elkhart County Safe Kids Coalition will hold a car seat safety check and IU Health Goshen Hospital will have a health fair. Brenspeed Performance Mustangs will also have two drag racing Mustangs on display.
