With hundreds of runners for the Two Rivers Meet flooding downtown Elkhart on Saturday, May 24, a handful of volunteers quietly worked to install the Flags From The Heart display at Central Park.

The Lions Club sponsored the display for the second year, and 226 large American Flags were placed precisely in formation on the lawn. A flag near the front of the display honored fallen Elkhart native Jesse Williams, and a vivid purple flag honored Sarah Crane and the Sarahstrong campaign.

The flags will be on display through the Memorial Day weekend.
