ArtWalk returns to downtown Elkhart on Wednesday, May 14. The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and will highlight the art and artists of the city's downtown district.
Seventeen artists will showcase their work along Main Street. They include custom jeweler Damen Mroczek of Hopman Jewelers and painter Kayleigh Webber-Byer, who will be painting the newest addition to Elkhart's hand-painted elk statues at the Arts on Main gallery at 205 S. Main St.
Street musicians will also provide live saxophone and guitar music during the event.
A block party will also be on Main Street between State and Division streets, where craft beer and snacks will be sold. Downtown Elkhart Inc. will also be showing off a few rehabilitated properties in the area to interested buyers.
This Wednesday’s ArtWalk is the first of four such events happening in Elkhart this year. Upcoming ArtWalks will be July 9, Oct. 8 and Dec. 10.
The event is hosted by SoMA, a community initiative looking encourage people to "work, live and play" in downtown Elkhart.
