GOSHEN — Known for making ‘50s rockabilly music with a modern edge, The Sweetback Sisters are coming to downtown Goshen.

Who are The Sweetback Sisters? The band has been touring regularly since the release of its first full-length album “Chicken Ain’t Chicken” in 2009. Vocalist Zara Bode describes the band is “straight out of the ‘50s. Other times it’s BR549 meets The B52s.” Staying true to its retro sound, the band cut songs onto analogue tape for its newest release, “Looking for a Fight.”

You might enjoy The Sweetback Sisters if you listen to: Wanda Jackson, Janis Martin and June Carter

When are they playing? Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

Where is Ignition Music Garage? 120 E. Washington St. in downtown Goshen.

How much are tickets? Tickets are available for $20 online at or by phone at 971-8282.
