Even though Monday, April 14, saw 37 degree weather, wind and chilling rain, Bill Wine was standing in his "office" on the Johnson Street Bridge.
It isn't the most comfortable office in the county, but Wine is OK with that.
“You take what the weather gives you,” said Wine. “This is my office. If you ask me where I’ve been, I’ll say I’ve been at my office.”
“I’m a fish eater,” said Wine “I like to eat fish three days a week.” Although his bucket held only a few fish, Wine still had something to show for his effort.
Wine watched the water race under the bridge and saw suckers rolling just under the surface of the water. “When (the suckers) start getting active, the water is warming up,” Wine said.
The weather was pretty inhospitable, but the 73-year-old Wine didn’t seem to mind too much.
“I get to see the seasons change," he said. "That’s why I like it up here on the bridge."
