    Goshen First Fridays

    Want to see live music tonight? Goshen's First Fridays will spotlight its blossoming music and arts scene at March's event.

    Patchwork Dance Company: In Concert, A Collection of Contemporary Works

    What: The work of seven Midwest choreographers will provide a wide range of styles including five premiers in the spring performances of "In Concert". Truly presenting choices for every taste, the program will include strong, high-energy dances as well as introspective and whimsical selections.

    When: 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9

    Where: The Lerner Theatre, 410 S. Main St., Elkhart

    Cost: $17 for adults through Saturday; $12 for seniors/staff through Saturday; $20 for adults at the door; $15 for seniors/students at the door.

    Laser Rolling Stones

    What: The first of our Laser Music series, Laser Rolling Stones! All of our laser music shows utilize a full color laser system and smoke machine for maximum entertainment. Tickets for Laser Music shows are $5 each.

    Graphic Novel Exhibit

    What: Graphic Novel Exhibit features work from student Brian Harris and work from students in the Mobile Apps course. A reception and mobile apps discussion will be held Thursday, March 6 in the gallery from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Parking is free for visitors. Guest parking is available on the north side of the building. If visiting during exhibit dates, please see security kiosk for a guest parking pass. Fridays are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gallery is closed Saturday and Sunday.

    All Breed Canine Health Clinic

    What: The 8th Annual All Breed Canine Health Clinic to be held at Joshica's Planet Canine, in Elkhart, Indiana. Once again, the clinic is being Hosted by the Portuguese Water Dog Club of Greater Chicagoland. Will be offering Eye Exams (CERF or OFA), Heart Auscultation, Microchipping, Optigen 20/20 clinic, AKC DNA test kits and more.

    Eye exams are scheduled to start at 8:30 AM.

    Heart exams are scheduled to start at 10:00 AM.

    Gardening For Birds

    What: Gardening for Birds seminar will be presented by Sally Roth, author of "Backyard Bird Feeder's Bible"and a contributing editor of "Birds & Blooms" magazine.

    Several educational and vendor booths will be open to explore before the program and during the break. The Elkhart County Extension Educator Jeff Burbrink and the Audubon society repesentative will be present to answer any gardening and bird related questions. From hydroponic gardening to invasive birds information, fromplant propagation to wild birds unlimited there will truly be something for the gardening and bird enthusiasts alike at the seminar.

    This seminar is organized by Michiana Master Gardener's Association in cooperation with Purdue Extension-Elkhart county, a nonprofit organization using its funds for scholarships, community gardens, community outreach and education.

    Caribbean & Beyond Dance Night

    What: Saturdays special dance and social for open minded, travelled, educated, peace loving people. Classic DJs unloading Old school. Reggae/Soca/Kwaito/Calypso/Rumba/Salsa/Reggaeton/Souk/Kwasakwasa - Live Reggae bands first Saturday of the month. Offering Snacks and discounted drinks, pool table. Discounted hotel rooms available.

    In the Dead of Winter: A Murder Mystery

    What: Spend a fun filled evening of intrigue and adventure as you solve the mysterious death of Professor Pavlov Pruner. Become the detective and as scenes unfold endeavor to solve the mystery.     What: A sing-along concert celebrating the songs of Pete Seeger featuring folk singer Joe Taschetta.

    StageWorks Stage Reading

    What: "Other Desert Cities," by Jon Robin Baitz The Acting Ensemble brings you the area premier of Jon Robin Baitz's critically acclaimed "Other Desert Cities." The Wyeth family spends Christmas Eve 2004 weighing the difference between truth and diplomacy in this politically charged family drama. Polly and Lyman Wyeth's daughter Brooke returns home to Palm Springs for the holidays. On her arrival, she reveals that she is publishing a 'tell-all' memoir about her older brothers politically motivated suicide and her parents role in his death, some years earlier. Through an evening filled with scotch and venom and wit where old Hollywood and old politics collide, we discover that all truths are not self-evident.
