College notes

Several Elkhart County natives have won top academic honors at their colleges and universities.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Emma Halling of Elkhart, Ind., earned honor roll distinction for the 2013 fall semester at the University of Kansas.

Halling is a student in the College of Liberal Arts of Sciences and is the daughter of Patricia and Gregory Halling of Elkhart.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Allik Thomas of Granger, Ind., was inducted into the Flagler College chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta.

Alpha Kappa Delta is an international honor society that focuses on the study of sociology.

MARION — Timothy Eichorst was named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at Indiana Wesleyan University.

To be named to the list, students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours.

Eichorst is the son of Tom and Carol Eichorst of Elkhart.
