Ignition features artist Amanda Shires for first show of 2014

GOSHEN — Singer and violinist Amanda Shires will appear on stage this week at Ignition Music Garage for the downtown music venue’s first concert of 2014.

Ÿ Who is Amanda Shires? A West Texas native, Shires has performed as part of the Texas Playboys, Thrift Store Cowboys and her husband’s band, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. She made her debut as a solo artist in 2005 with her album “Being Brave.” Since then she has released three more records, including her latest, titled “Down Fell the Doves,” in 2013. Shires appeared in the 2011 movie “Country Strong” as a backup musician and singer for Kelly Canter, played by Gwyneth Paltrow.
