GOSHEN — Ignition Music Garage is ringing in 2014 with a New Year’s Eve concert featuring three local and regional acts.
The downtown Goshen record shop and music venue will welcome Andru Bemis, Von Strantz and Shiny Shiny Black at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31 for a Brew Showcase.
The concert at Ignition, 120 E. Washington St., is a partnership with its newest neighbor, The Electric Brew. The coffee shop, which relocated to Washington Street in August, was known for booking national, regional and local artists during its time on Main Street, but the new space is not large enough for more than one solo acoustic artist.
“We want to continue their tradition of providing a stage for local musicians and help them in their growth as artists,” Ignition founder Steve Martin said.
Since opening in early 2012, Ignition has hosted more than 40 national recording acts.
“As more and more people become aware of our space, we are getting an increasing number of requests to use the space for shows, fundraisers and private parties,” owner Steve Martin said. “We have had poetry reading, one act plays, improv comedy, old-time music jams and a few dance parties. From the beginning, we have hoped that Ignition can be home to a growing local music scene.”
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve concert are on sale for $12 at ignitionmusic.net or by calling 971-8282.
