MIDDLEBURY — Kids Wish Network is recognizing the generosity of its partners who helped send Will Mishler to Florida to fulfill his wish after being diagnosed with Ganglioblastoma, a type of slow growing tumor.
A football injury in 2012 led to the 15-year-old’s diagnosis of Ganglioblastoma, though Will’s tumor was growing so rapidly it had become malignant. Surgery to remove the mass led to diabetes, nerve damage, hypertension and blood clots.
Will received the opportunity through Kids Wish Network and wished to visit Universal Studios in Florida. The organization arranged an all-expenses paid trip to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. Will and his family received VIP tickets to the Blue Man Group and passes to the Bluephoria VIP Lounge before the show.
The Reunion Resort provided a luxury suite at The Reunion Grand along with dinner at Eleven, a rooftop steakhouse. Hard Rock Cafe and Olive Garden provided dinners for the entire family.
“Will had such a great time,” said Amy Mishler, Will’s mother. “The Blue Man Group show was amazing; they gave him a gift bag and the art they made during the show.”
Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella added, “Granting a child’s wish provides them with more than just joy
it also gives them hope for a happier, healthier future.”
