PALS recertification course Oct. 10

Elkhart General Emergency Medical Services will offer a Pediatric Advanced Life Support recertification course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 10 at Elkhart General Health Education Center, 2222 Rieth Blvd.
The one-day course is designed for professionals who have completed the PALS course and have a card due to expire or that has recently expired. Participants must be competent in managing the respiratory, shock and cardiac core cases with PALS algorithms. The course is intended for physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, advanced level EMS providers and any health care provider responsible for pediatric emergency care.
Fees are $75 for affiliated providers and Beacon employees and $100 for non-Beacon affiliated providers. Fee does not include textbooks. Courses are open to the public. For more information call 875-6430. To register online visit www.egh.org.
