ELKHART — The 100th reunion of the John Sherman family is scheduled for Sept. 15 in Elkhart.

All descendents of John Sherman and his wife, Anna Elizabeth Clipp, are invited to attend, according to a press release from the family.

The couple moved to Elkhart County prior to 1869 and most of the children settled in Elkhart County and the surrounding areas. Both are buried in the St. John’s Lutheran church Cemetery in Goshen.

This year’s reunion is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren, 24955 C.R. 24, Elkhart. The event will include a hot dog roast, games for kids and a white elephant gift exchange with a $10 limit. A wall-sized family tree shows the relationship of all family members and is kept up with new marriage and birth information. Attendees will be able to trace where they belong in the family.

Attendees with a last name beginning with letters A through M are asked to bring a salad or vegetable dish to share. Those with a last name beginning with letters N through Z are asked to bring a dessert.

To RSVP, to get directions or for more information, call Tim Yontz at 630-752-5150 or Amy Allard at 574-206-6926.
