GOSHEN — Ignition Garage is getting bigger and better.

The downtown Goshen music venue and record store has announced a few changes that might excite music fans. Since Better World Books moved from its Washington Street location to a Main Street storefront, Ignition has expanded with new sales counters and an audio room in the back. The Electric Brew will be moving into the bookstore’s old space by the end of July, becoming Ignition’s newest neighbor. These changes also allow Ignition to expand its seating to accommodate up to 150 people per concert.

The Electric Brew’s relocation from Main Street will open up a few opportunities as well, including an expanded music schedule. The first Brew Showcase event on Friday, July 12, featured Goldmine Pickers, The Moore Brothers and Andru Bemis. The concert doubled as a pre-party and fundraiser for FolkFishFest, a music festival in Angola that runs Aug. 16-18.

The next showcase will feature music by Octopus Jones as well as James and the Drifters at 7:30 p.m. July 26.

Ignition has four concerts scheduled for next month, including Amy Speace on Aug. 10, The Spring Standards on Aug. 17 and Nashville Songwriters Weekend with Will Kimbrough, Phil Madeira and Brigitte DeMeyer on Aug. 23 and Aug. 24.
