Elkhart Two win lifetime achievement awards

ELKHART – Two Goshen residents were recently awarded lifetime achievement awards from the Goshen Hospital and Health Care Foundation.

Awards were given at the sold-out Gala for Goshen Health at the Crystal Ballroom in the Lerner Theatre on June 7, according to a press release.

Laurie Hardie of Goshen was awarded the 2013 Lifetime Healthcare Leadership Award. The award “recognizes and honors an individual, family or group who has made a significant lifetime contribution to the healthcare field in the greater Goshen area,” according to the release. It is the highest public award given by the foundation on behalf of the community.

Dr. Neil R. Harris of Goshen and Gulf Shores, Ala., was awarded the 2013 Lifetime Physician Service Award. The award is given to “a physician who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the quality of life for his or her patients through his or her healthcare leadership and volunteerism,” according to the release.
