GOSHEN — The ninth annual Art is Ageless contest is accepting artwork in four categories from Elkhart County residents 55 years and older.
The contest is sponsored by Greencroft Communities in Goshen to “recognize the creativity, growth and contributions of older generations,” according to a press release.
The contest categories are painting and drawing, photography, soft crafts (needlework, quilting and weaving) and hard crafts (sculpture, ceramics and woodworking).
Artists can submit up to three entries, each with an accompanying application. All artwork must have been created when the artist was at least 55 years old and within the past 10 years.
Applications are due by Monday, July 8, and art must be delivered between 9 a.m. and noon on Tuesday, July 16.
A reception will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. The exhibit will be open from July 17 through July 21 at the Greencroft Goshen Community Center.
Prizes will be awarded in each category, along with a Best of Show award and a People’s Choice award. Winning art will be featured in next year’s Greencroft Communities calendar.
Application and entry forms are available at the Greencroft Goshen Community Center and at the center’s website.
