GOSHEN — When one door at Ignition Garage closes, another opens.

Singer Holly Williams canceled her Wednesday, June 26, concert at the downtown Goshen music venue, but owner Steve Martin quickly jumped at the chance to book The Vespers, a Nashville band that stunned a crowd with a stellar performance at his record shop last year.

Williams, who is on vocal rest for the next two weeks, has rescheduled her show at Ignition for Sept. 28. Tickets that have already been purchased will be honored at the September performance. For a refund, visit or call Ignition Music.

Ÿ Who are The Vespers? The four-piece band has toured from Boston to Austin, hitting festivals and college campuses along the way. The Vespers are made up of a pair of sisters — Callie and Phoebe Cryar — on lead vocals and two brothers — Bruno and Taylor Jones — backing them up. The band released its first album, “Tell Your Mama,” in 2010 and followed up with “The Fourth Wall” in 2012. Both records exhibit the band’s youthful spirit and folk-pop sound.

Ÿ You might enjoy The Vespers if you listen to: Waterdeep, LP and The Wailin’ Jennys.

Ÿ When are they playing? Showtime is 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28.

Ÿ Where is Ignition Garage? 120 E. Washington St. in downtown Goshen.

Ÿ How much are tickets? Tickets are $15 at Ignition Music, online at, by phone at 971-8282.
