ELKHART — A newly painted elk will join the herd of Elk Art when it is unveiled at 10 a.m. today, May 7, at Comprehensive Dental in Elkhart.

The elk was purchased at an auction for Child And Parent Services in 2011 by Bruce Cassady and Terry Bryant as a surprise for their wives, Judy Cassady and Liz Elliot, who both work at Comprehensive Dental.

Elliot, who is an artist and a dentist, painted zebra stripes with inspirational words and objects hidden throughout them. Elliot’s idea was to turn the elk into a “seek and find” for kids.

Three more elk will be auctioned at the CAPS benefit, Vine and Steins, at the RV Hall of Fame on June 14. All proceeds from the sales of each elk go directly to CAPS.

For more information about the June auction, contact CAPS at 295-2277.
