Register now for “Bark for Life” May 4

ELKHART — The first “Bark For Life” of Elkhart County is set for 1 p.m. May 4 at Walker Park, 3301 E. Bristol St.

The Relay for Life event will help raise awareness and funds for American Cancer Society research, honor cancer survivors and the care-giving qualities of dogs and remember those who lost their fight with cancer.

Cancer survivor Dr. Jill Windy of Noah’s Landing Pet Care Clinic, Elkhart, will be the Grand Marshall. All registered dogs will receive a Bark For Life bandana. In addition to the walk, contests include First Dog to Finish, Big Dog, Wee Doggie, Most Spirited Dog and Most Purple Attire Dog.

Registration will begin at 12 p.m. Pre-registration is $15 for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog. Day-of event registration is $25 for the first dog.
