ELKHART Orlando Landrum, M.D., board-certified interventional pain management physician practicing in Elkhart and Mishawaka, is currently performing the Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression procedure and kyphoplasty procedure with the biologic Cortoss. MILD procedure provides a permanent treatment for a specific type of spinal stenosis (narrowing of spinal canal) that allows pain relief and the patient to return home the same day. Kyphoplasty is a procedure used to treat vertebral compression fractures. VCF’s are fractures in the bones of the back from a variety of causes. Kyphoplasty helps expand the bones back to their normal size after a fracture and keep them at a normal size using medical-grade cement. Dr. Landrum’s approach incorporates Cortoss, a biological mixture developed to prevent fractures by mimicking the natural bone density. Dr. Landrum is currently evaluating patients for potential acceptance for treatment for numerous types of pain conditions.
