Center for Hospice Care recognizing volunteers for their service

The volunteers will be honored during a luncheon on April 16.

ELKHART — Center for Hospice Care is recognizing its many volunteers for their service over the years with a luncheon on Tuesday, April 16, in South Bend.

The John E. Krueger Hospice Caring Award will be given to Joyce Carver, a nine-year volunteer from Elkhart who spent more than 200 hours volunteering in 2012. Carver received four nominations from staff members for her selection.

Other volunteers will be recognized for their years of service in five-year increments.

Five year volunteers are Susan Barnett, Dennis Beville, Elishia Cook, Jessica Firestone, Dorothea Flory, Ruth Hochstetler, Eva Horvath, Andrea Hudak, Lauren Hudak, Debbie Hudak, Rick Hudak, Brendan McBride, Kathy McFann, Terry Rodino, Andrea Schoof, Mary Stepney, Mike Suth and Sharon Wagley.

Ten year volunteers are Barbara Baney, John Bickel, Ann Hughes, Steven Listenberger, Carol MacLean, Pete Morris, Jan Petty, Teresa Papoi, Jane Pinnick and Dana Rogers.

Fifteen year volunteers are Thelma Allison, Edie Petrie, Sr. Carmel Sallows, Ed Wasowski and Louise Wasowski.

George Kauchak will be recognized for volunteering for 20 years and Alice Cleppe will be recognized for volunteering for 25 years.

The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Hilton Garden Inn, 53995 S.R. 933, South Bend.
