SOUTH BEND — Mike Brey, men’s basketball coach at University of Notre Dame, will lead this year’s American Heart Association “Tip-Off for Heart” event, set for 2 to 8 p.m. April 24 at the University of Notre Dame Joyce Center, 113 Joyce Center. The local initiative “Men of Heart” launched last fall and aims to raise awareness surrounding men’s heart health. Participants will receive hands-on experience and learn about nutrition, heart risk factors, tips on getting active and the game of basketball. The event will conclude with dinner in Club Naimoli with Coach Brey. “I am thrilled to be partnering with the American Heart Association on this new event, Tip-Off for Heart,” said Brey. “Our coaches and support staff are looking forward to working with the participants on ways to stay active and make healthy choices.” The event is open to men ages 21 over. Fee is $145. Attendants should bring athletic wear, including sneakers, and be ready for drills on the basketball court. To reserve a spot call 274-1783 or visit www.ABC57.com.
