Asperger Autism Group hosting free workshop for Autism Awareness Month
GOSHEN — In recognition of Autism Awareness Month in April, Asperger Autism Group of Goshen is hosting the free workshop “Visual Schedules & Proactive Behavioral Strategies” from 9 a.m. to noon April 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 202 S. Greene Road.
Instructors will be Tiffany Neal and Anne Fletcher from HANDS in Autism Interdisciplinary Training and Resource Center, affiliated with Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center at Riley Hospital, Indianapolis.
Participants will learn strategies and tools to help manage challenging behavior and teaching social skills.

In addition, the regular April meeting of Asperger Autism Group of Goshen is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 8 at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, 602 S. Eighth St. Diane Wimmer will present “Using the iPad to Teach Communication Skills.” Wimmer is Behavior Consultant for Northern Indiana Therapies.
