ELKHART — The Elkhart County Chess Club is hosting a “quick” chess tournament for all ages on Saturday, March 16.

Registration is from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the Elkhart Public Library, located at the corner of Second and High streets downtown.

Games begin at 9:30 a.m. There will be five rounds of play that include a time limit of 15 minutes per player. Games are expected to end around 12:30 p.m.

The rated tourney for members of U.S. Chess Federation is $10 to enter. The non-rated tourney is $5 to enter. Prizes will be awarded for both tourneys, with the non-rated tourney prize including a USCF membership.

The club requests that players bring chess sets and time clocks if possible.

After the tournament, there will be a brief business meeting so that club officers can be elected.

The Elkhart County Chess Club meets every Saturday morning in meeting room no. 6 at the Elkhart Public Library.
