Martin’s Super Markets will host “Cook Smart, Eat Smart” classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Martin’s locations at 5637 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, and 1150 Husky Trail, Warsaw, as part of its first annual Live Well Week. These locations, in addition to the Martin’s at 7355 Heritage Square Drive in Granger, will also host a Live Well Expo from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
“Cook Smart, Eat Smart” will include instruction and recipes by chefs and school coordinators, and information on general nutritional guidelines. A store tour will follow. During the expo, Martin’s pharmacy staff will explain nutritional supplements, blood pressure screenings and consultations on Zostavax (shingles vaccine). A limited number of vaccines will be available on site.
All Martin’s locations will offer selections of specially priced healthier meal items in departments including produce and deli. Expo locations will feature exhibits by health care providers, fitness consultants and educational resource providers.
All activities are free. For a complete schedule of events visit www.martins-supermarkets.com.
