Local people honored at region American Red Cross dinner
Several people were honored at the Indiana-Ohio Region of American Red Cross Blood Services.

The following individuals from Elkhart County were recently honored at the Indiana-Ohio Region of American Red Cross Blood Services annual recognition dinner for outstanding achievements. The Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award, recognizing exemplary youth who find time between band practice, sports and academics to be involved in American Red Cross, went to Kelsey Morris. The First-Time Sponsor Award, recognizing businesses, churches and community organizations across the Indiana-Ohio Blood Services Region that hosted their first American Red Cross blood drive during the last year or that hosted a Red Cross blood drive after an absence of three or more years, went to Courtyard Health Care Center and Kem Krest. The Faithful Friends Award, recognizing sponsors willing to open their doors when American Red Cross needs to use their facilities, even on short notice, went to Sunnyside Park. The Growing by Leaps and Bounds Award, recognizing blood drive sponsors who have either increased the pints of blood donated at their blood drives by 25 percent or more, or increased their drive frequency in the last year, went to Monaco RV. The Lifesaver Award, recognizing blood drive sponsors and coordinators who replaced drives that were cancelled, demonstrated flexibility, accommodated unexpected scheduling changes and still met or exceeded their goal, went to Blockbuster Video of Goshen, and Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. The Outstanding Volunteer Service Award, recognizing Red Cross volunteers who serve at blood drives, donation centers and local Red Cross chapters, went to Dan Post, of Goshen. IU Health Goshen Hospital was nominated for the Hospital Partnership Award.
