LIMA, Ohio — Brandon M. Sharkey of Goshen, Ind., made the dean’s list for the August 2012 session in the College of Applied Technologies in Lima.
WEST LAFAYETTE — Steve Lovejoy was awarded one of Purdue University’s 2012 Distinguished Alumni awards. He is senior vice president for global commercialization and Asia Pacific, China and EMEA supply chain operations for Starbucks Coffee in Seattle, Wash. He graduated from Concord High School in Elkhart, Ind., in 1984 and graduated from Purdue University in 1988. His parents are Bob and Lil Lovejoy. LINCOLN, Neb. — Cameron Ponce of Elkhart, Ind., placed fifth in the Sophomore Men’s Classical Division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Regional Vocal Competition at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in November. Ponce is a sophomore at Hesston (Kan.) College. His parents are Martin and Susan Ponce of Elkhart.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Clyde Prestly was awarded the Patterson Academic Scholarship and Presidential Scholarship from Lake Forest College. Prestly, a freshman at the college, is a resident of Elkhart, Ind.
ASHLAND, Ohio — Brooklyn Moore has been named a member of the Women’s Club Soccer at Ashland University. Moore, a marketing major, is a 2012 graduate of NorthWood High School and a resident of Nappanee, Ind.

HUNTINGTON — Trenidy Cox represented Huntington University at the Indiana chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing annual competition, held Nov. 3 at Indiana Wesleyan University. Cox is a freshman theater performance major at Huntington and a resident of New Paris.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Colin Colbourn of Elkhart, Ind., received the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation’s Gen. Lemuel C. Shepherd Jr. Memorial Dissertation Fellowship, which is awarded each academic year to a qualified graduate student working on a doctoral dissertation related to Marine Corps history. Colbourn is working on a dissertation titled “Esprit de Marine Corps: The Making of the Modern Marine Corps through Public Relations, 1911-1947” at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Colbourn graduated from Concord High School and Ball State University. His parents are Luanne Peterson of Elkhart and Charles Colbourn of Carmel, Ind.
