Weldy, known for riding an iconic pink John Deere tractor, passed away April 20.

WAKARUSA — Juanita Mae Weldy, 69, passed away Sunday, April 20.

Weldy was an outspoken proponent for raising breast cancer awareness and for the necessity of gene testing. She was known for riding the iconic pink John Deere tractor that her husband, Bob, customized for her in support of her battle.

She and her husband operated Fairview Farms.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Wakarusa Missionary Church.

Weldy will be buried in Olive (West) Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
