    Nine to compete in Middlebury’s Distinguished Young Women program

    The theme for this year is “Shine Your Way” and the program will be held at the Northridge High School Auditorium.

    Nine contestants will be competing in Middlebury’s Distinguished Young Women program, formerly known as Middlebury’s Junior Miss program.

    The theme for this year is “Shine Your Way” and the program will be held at the Northridge High School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.

    Admission is $10 each and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Doors will open at 6:00 pm.

    Kelly Lenker 

    Kelly is the daughter of Ted and Erica Lenker and attends Fairfield Jr. Sr. High School. For her talent, she will perform a dance/tumbling routine to “Let’s Get It Started” by the Black Eyed Peas. Kelly’s sponsor is First State Bank of Middlebury, and her stage mom is Marissa Long.

    Hanna Zook

    Hanna is the daughter of Rob and Amy Zook and attends Northridge High School. For her talent, she will sing “They Say It’s Wonderful” from the musical, “Annie Get Your Gun.” Hanna’s sponsor is Language Art, and her stage mom is Sarah Virgil.

    Leah Bontreger

    Leah is the daughter of Mike and Nancy Bontreger and attends Northridge High School. For her talent, Leah will perform a self-written skit entitled, “The Missing List.” Leah’s sponsor is Affairs to Remember Bridal, and her stage mom is Patti Miller.

    Bethany Davis

    Bethany is the daughter of Jim and Char Davis and attends Northridge High School. Bethany will perform a jazz/tap routine to the song, “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic. Bethany’s sponsor is Spectrum Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Inc., and her stage mom is Casey Nordman.

    Nikki Diamond

    Nikki is the daughter of Mark and Stacey Diamond and attends Northridge High School. For her talent, Nikki will perform a marimba solo that she arranged herself. Nikki’s sponsor is Kopf Leasing Inc., and her stage mom is Tracie Gannon.

    Melanie Streeter

    Melanie is the daughter of Steve and Michelle Streeter and attends Northridge High School. For her talent, she will play the guitar and sing a self-composed song entitled, “By Your Side.” Melanie’s sponsor is Amberwood Terrace Chiropractic, and her stage mom is Kristi Edlund.

    Carolyn Saylor

    Carolyn is the daughter of Tim and Jody Saylor and attends Bethany Christian High School. For her talent, Carolyn will perform a pointe ballet routine to “Book of Days” by Enya. Carolyn’s sponsor is Innovative Communities, and her stage mom is Catherine Roebuck.

    Haley Raber

    Haley is the daughter of Lavern and Sharlene Raber and attends Northridge High School. For her talent, she will sing “Maybe This Time” from the Oscar and Tony winning musical, “Cabaret.” Haley’s sponsor is Middlebury Chiropractic Clinic LLC, and her stage mom is Kris Mueller.

    Syd Dille

    Syd is the daughter of Christine Kinnison and Flint Dille and attends Northridge High School. For her talent, she will perform a flag/dance routine to “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles. Syd’s sponsor is inMiddlebury Magazine, and her stage mom is Sarah Virgil.
