    Two railroad crossings in Goshen to be closed in June

    Two railroad crossings will be closed to the public in June while repairs are made to the crossings. 

    A representative of Dyer Construction Company submitted a request to the city Monday, June 2, to close the crossing at Beaver Lane on Monday, June 9, and at Indiana Avenue after the first crossing was repaired. 

    The representative said in a written request that it would take the company about a week to finish repairing each crossing. 


    • Officer David K. Miller was promoted to the rank of captain. The position became available following the retirement of Capt. Joe Brown. The board was also asked to approve the conditional hiring of of Evan Y. Witt for the condition of probationary patrol officer.

    • The Goshen City Church of the Brethren is planning a carnival on June 28 and requested the closing of Clinton Street near Fifth Street in front of the church.
