The names of three brothers will be added to Elkhart’s World War II memorial wall.

Mayor Dick Moore will recognize Leon, Everett and Wilbur Anglemyer during a brief ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 on the first floor of City Hall, 229 South Second Street.

Earlier this year, Leon Anglemyer’s daughter Theresa Lewis lobbied for her father’s name to be added to the memorial. She also hoped her father’s two brothers, also veterans of WWII, could be listed.

Later, Moore looked into Anglemyer’s service records and confirmed his name would be added to the memorial.

Moore and the brothers’ family members will be speaking at the ceremony, according to Moore’s executive assistant Arvis Dawson.
