ELKHART — Elkhart barber Larry Stamper is retiring after 58 years trimming hair at Seville Barber Shop.

Stamper’s retirement means the barber shop will close. Formerly situated on Main Street, Stamper and Seville Barber Shop has been a fixture of downtown Elkhart for years.

His family will host an open house reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, for friends and regulars to send Stamper off. The open house will be at Stamper’s downtown Elkhart barber shop at 108 W. Lexington Ave. in Elkhart.
