ELKHART — Two meetings are set for next week to discuss Elkhart’s rental registration and code enforcement programs.

City Council President Ron Troyer said a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 will allow the public to ask questions about code enforcement while another at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, is aimed at encouraging landlords to register rental properties.

Troyer wants to examine both programs to determine if changes are needed.

He is establishing separate committees for the two issues and said he’s received strong interest. Anyone wanting to serve on the committees is encouraged to attend.

Both meetings in council chambers are open to the public.

Troyer announced the dates at the end of Monday’s city council meeting.
