ELKHART -- If you have a pile of papers that need shredding, you can get rid of it Wednesday in Elkhart.

The city of Elkhart and Integra Certified Document Destruction and the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce will host Clean Your Files Day on Wednesday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Elkhart’s Civic Plaza in downtown Elkhart.

Businesses, nonprofits, schools, and residents are invited to drop off office paper for shredding and recycling.

Integra will provide free and secure shredding of office paper for up to 10 boxes. Each additional box will come with a $3 fee. Boxes should be no larger than a typical file box.

Last year, the community recycled more than 33,500 pounds of paper.

The event is being organized in part by the city’s Public Works and Utilities. For information, call Megan Kolaczyk at 293-2572.
