National New York Central Railroad Museum celebrates National Train Day Saturday

Raffle and music will be part of the fun at National New York Railroad Museum.

ELKHART — Elkhart will celebrate National Train Day at the National New York Central Railroad Museum Saturday, May 10.

Children 12 and younger will be admitted free of charge. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors.

There will be a raffle for a framed and signed National New York Central Railroad poster and railroad music will add to the atmosphere, according to a news release from the city of Elkhart.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is at 721 S. Main St. 

National Train Day celebrates the driving of the silver spike which ushered in the completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad.
