ELKHART — Phone service has been restored for several hundred Frontier Communications customers, the company confirmed.
About 700 to 800 customers lost service for two weeks after a contractor cut into a cable while working on the south side of Elkhart. Restoration of service involved splicing 6,600 wires, according to Dana Berkes, public relations manager for Frontier's central region.
Some business service was reconnected temporarily within days and some of the service was restored in phases.
The disruption began April 21, but phone service was restored to everyone by late Monday, Berkes said.
