ELKHART — A Chicago woman rolled her car Saturday, March 29, as she exited the U.S. 20 Bypass headed onto C.R. 17.

Leah Pointer, 18, was traveling "a little fast" in her Volkswagen Beetle as she took the off-ramp for eastbound bypass traffic, she said. The car rolled once and ended in the grassy area off the ramp.

The sharply curved off-ramp has a recommended speed limit of 25 mph.

Neither Pointer nor the other passenger in the car, Gabrielle Smith, 18 and also of Chicago, was injured. The two young women meant to exit into the northbound C.R. 17 lanes, headed to a wedding here.
